MAP17: Alchemical Warfare is the seventeenth map of Scientist 2023. It was designed by Roland van der Velden. The par time defined in DMAPINFO is 1:06.

Secrets[edit]

  1. From the starting area, enter the nearby building and take either set of steps up to the middle platform. Press the western wall with a pool of brains in front of it to find a teleporter, which will teleport you onto a rock with a megaarmor. (sector 131)
  2. Behind the red door, you can get to a corridor that overlooks the central courtyard. One of the windows does not have a lower wall, so let yourself drop down slowly from there to land on the siding of the wall. Follow it to a section of the wall that is partly red, this is a false wall. Go through it to get a berserk pack. (sector 286)

Bugs[edit]

Like in the Scientist 2 version of the level, there is one armor bonus (thing 156) on the normally unreachable ledge in the south-west of the exit courtyard area, preventing 100% item completion. By bringing the arch-vile (thing 116) from the rocket room into this area, it is possible to perform an arch-vile jump to get onto this ledge, obtaining the item.
