MAP17: The Crypt is the seventeenth level of Eternal Doom. It was designed by Dietmar Westerteicher and uses the music track "InDIAn Song".

This level is quite straightforward, with no hard mandatory puzzles and also relatively short. It is the first of three consecutive levels that are not overall likely to stump the player too much in terms of puzzles (though the next two maps gradually get larger and more complex). In the church-like area, one of the painted glass windows on the right side can be shot out to reveal a shorter path back, but it is not required.


  1. To get the megaarmor on the teleporter, teleport to the bridge using the teleporter, then attempt to open the right door, which will actually open the left door. Then, where the left door was, press use as if the left door was there to open the right door. The switch behind the left door lowers a part of the wall in the hall past the right door, where you can drop to the megaarmor. (sector 136)
  2. In the chapel where the red key is located, shoot at the stained glass on the right side for a passage that eventually reaches a megasphere. (sector 274)
