Technical information[edit]
Inspiration and development[edit]
- This level is heavily inspired by the music track "The Betrayer" from the Doom Eternal soundtrack.
- The original concept for this level was as follows: there would be a giant crater with a portal to Hell in the center of the ruined city, and the player would have to jump into it to complete the level. But early in development, the setting was changed to a city that was dragged into Hell. The giant lava hole at the end of the level was meant to be that crater.
- The change in setting was inspired by the previous map in this WAD, Another Doomed City District.
- At one point in development, this level was supposed to start on a bridge from the end of the previous level, but this idea was scrapped due to the difference in their styles.
