Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

Take the shotgun then open the door to enter a columned hall with imps and lost souls. Press the skull switch at the north end of the hall to lower a super shotgun if you need it, then climb up the steps on the east side to find a chaingun and a teleporter. Enter the teleporter to go to the star room on the east side of the map, kill the arachnotrons hidden behind the windows on the east side of the room then shoot the eye switch between them to open another switch in the north wall. Pressing this switch lowers one of the pillars on the south side of the room and brings in some monsters; when you step on the pillar to collect the item on top of it, the next switch in the sequence will open. After stepping on the third pillar, the blue skull key on the west side of the room will lower. Taking the key lowers the teleporter in the middle of the room, letting you go back to the starting area.

Back in the columned hall, deal with the revenants that have been released then open the blue bars on the west side of the room to find another teleporter. Enter the teleporter to go to a room with fences on either side, kill the waiting imps and arachnotrons then flip the skull lever in the north-east corner of the room to open a door to the south. Behind the door is a staircase leading down to a courtyard, which is guarded by several arachnotrons on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher. Climb to the top of the structure at the south end of the courtyard and press the satyr switch here to release several monsters, then go back to the north end and enter either of the teleporters that have opened here to get back to the fenced room, where the bars at the top of the steps have lowered.

Go to the top of the steps to see a lava pool with five platforms, then step across to the third platform to get a plasma gun and open a pentagram wall ahead to reveal an imp (or Hell knight on HMP or higher). Enter the chamber that the monster was guarding and open the walls here to find the red skull key along with a berserk pack and energy cells, which will help you kill the monsters that teleport in behind you. Go back to the starting area, where more revenants and arachnotrons have been released, then open the red door at the north end to find an arch-vile defending the exit switch.

Secrets[edit]

Official[edit]

  1. Use the wall behind the starting point to reveal a plasma gun, as well as energy cells to the sides. These three alcoves all count as the same secret. (sector 253)
  2. In the room with the large star, open a wall at the north side that looks different to find a backpack, boxes of shotgun shells, and boxes of rockets. (sector 257)

Non-official[edit]

  • In the courtyard area, go inside the central building and approach the window at the south end to open an eye switch. Press the switch to reveal two gargoyle switches outside, shoot either switch through the window then go back to the entrance door where two more switches have opened. Press both switches in quick succession to lower the lifts in the building which go up to a megaarmor and supercharge.

Bugs[edit]

The plasma gun in the closet on the west side of the star room (thing 341) is only accessible in deathmatch, but will appear in all game modes as it is not flagged as multiplayer-only.
