MAP18: The Rink (also called Blood Sport in the intro text) is the eighth map of Ashes: Afterglow. It was designed by ReformedJoe and uses the music track "Blood Sport" by John Weekley (PRIMEVAL).

Walkthrough

Map of The Rink

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Secrets

1. At the northeast end, climb the structures and get to the east side, then head north and head west, jumping across to get a brute stim. (sector 1931)
2. In the east room with crates, head on them to the north side and enter the vent. Go through it to get a leather armor. (sector 3036)
3. In the area south of the room with crates, head to the south right away and to the inner room to the west. Find a small switch at the southwest end to unlock a ladder, then climb it and another ladder. Jump up and to the north, then east to get armor scraps, food, and some junk. (sector 2347)
4. Head southwest from the room where Secret #3. In this room, make your way to the top of the room and jump to the tops of the vent shafts to the northeast to the east side. Enter the vent to get pipebombs. (sector 2383)
5. In the hall west of the room where Secret #4 is, head north and climb the steps. In the next room, head behind the shelves and crouch to get to the north, then head east on the ledge to get some junk and light bullets. (sector 1117)
6. In the room where you can get Secret #5, head to the room south of it and jump to the southwest corner. Open the door with the switch and head south to a vent. Break it open and head in to a bathroom to get a first-aid kit and armor scraps. (sector 1139)
7. At the southwest end of the building in the office cubicles, head to the east door which requires the bronze room key. Open it to get junk and a first-aid kit. (sector 7611)
8. In the outside area, head to the west side and enter the small truck to find junk and an ammo bag. Look out for the booby trap inside. (sector 5924)
