Secrets[edit]

  1. In the area with cranes, get to the easternmost crane and use the switch to lift a container, which reveals an open container to the south. Enter to get a jackhammer and some junk. (sector 976)
  2. Head to the north end of the central train and open the yellow car with the Cabal Co. logo to find a sawed-off shotgun and shotgun shells. (sector 2472)
  3. In the building east of Desperado, use the register and quickly enter the west room. Find a button on the south wall and use it before it closes to lower the safe in the room. Head down and you will find Larry's Meat Store. (sector 4122)
  4. Head south of Dom's Donuts Drive-in and get on top of the bus south of it. Jump into the open room to get painkillers, a brute stim, some junk, and a .45 revolver. (sector 4608)
  5. In the room with the machine pistol and pump-action shotgun, climb the steps to the east. Head to the south end and climb the crates. Head west into the vent and up a ladder, and you will soon reach a room with an ammo bag. (sector 2088)
  6. After leaving the pain elemental stage area, head to the west side of it where you will see two crates. Behind them is a switch. After pressing it, head to the door it opens behind the crates to find the legendary armor. (sector 2063)

Technical information[edit]

Inspiration and development[edit]

The town section originally formed an optional "ghost town" section of MAP21, but it was decided later that this was superfluous and made the hub more confusing. It was moved to MAP19 and converted into a combat scenario to give the map more structure and variety.

A "lost" town map, Junction, would have appeared after this map, which would have tied maps 18-20 together into a unified hub to match the other two main hubs. Junction is mentioned by name by multiple NPCs and there were already planned quests and characters in the original design documents. However, it had only been given a basic layout before the idea was cut due to time constraints and the number of added resources required, as well as unnecessarily bloating an already hefty episode. The existing resources as of 2022 are planned for use in a future expansion.
