Essentials[edit]

You begin in the building near the center of the map. Go through the door to your right then open the large door behind you to get outside. Drop into the surrounding moat, which contains cacodemons, then go round to the north-east end to find a few imps guarding a skull switch. Press the switch to lower a lift that goes up to the red skull key, then drop through the window (two platforms holding shotgun guys will lower) and walk north-east to a red door. Go through the door and kill any waiting shotgun guys, press the gargoyle switch in the middle of the room to lower the lifts in the west wall, then ride either lift up to open a tunnel that leads north to a skull switch. Press the skull switch to open the tunnel at the south-west end of the map, then walk east to a gargoyle switch and press it to open a closet below containing one or two barons of Hell and a skull switch. This switch will open the entrance door and allow you to get back outside.

Back outside, head west until you cross a metal bridge then go south into the tunnel you opened earlier. Follow the tunnel past some imps and nightmare imps until it turns to the east, dispose of one or two revenants then step through the wall here to find a skull switch that will lower all the columns in the tunnel to reveal lost souls and the yellow skull key; before returning to the tunnel, head north along the ledge to collect a supercharge. After taking the yellow key, follow the tunnel north to get back outside, cross the bridge then go west and south up some steps to reach a yellow door guarded by a spectre. Behind the door is a nukage pool that can only be traversed by running across a series of square platforms, which are defended by imps and a Hell knight on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or higher. After reaching the door on the east side of the nukage, open it to see one to three knights guarding the blue skull key.

Taking the blue key opens the bars next to it so you can get back outside. Go round to the ledge east of the starting building to find a blue door, open it and kill the demons (and Hell nobles on HMP or higher) waiting ahead then climb up the stairs until they turn west; a chaingunner/revenant will teleport behind you at this point. At the top of the stairs, go through either of the northern doors to enter a small library and kill any waiting enemies, collect the supercharge then press the skull switch on the north wall to open something nearby. Leave the library and go west through the now-open door to press another skull switch, then drop through the window that opens to your left to get back outside where cacodemons and lost souls are teleporting in. Go south to a set of steps that have risen, climb them then enter either of the dark alcoves ahead to go down to a chamber where imps and two arachnotrons will appear. Go through the door here and step on to a bridge surrounded by a damaging blood pool then go forward until you see the columns on either side lower to reveal lost souls, imps and a knight/baron. Kill the noble and press the switch behind it to end the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

Secrets[edit]

  1. Use the metal wall north of the red key to get a backpack. (sector 22)
  2. In the library past the blue door, the south-east bookshelf can be lowered, revealing energy cells. Notice the bars to the south, which block a plasma gun. To get the plasma gun, use the picture in the south-west corner of the room, then quickly get on the bookshelf and ride it up, then jump to the plasma gun before the bars close off. (sector 38)
  3. In the library at the north-east end, go to the north-west bookshelf and lower it to get boxes of rockets and an energy cell pack. (sector 190)
