Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Other points of interest[edit]
Secrets[edit]
- Break the glass behind the start area and walk through the window panes for a shotgun and a pile of shells. (sector 1223)
- Go to the hallway with drinking fountains on the second floor, at the most northeastern part of the mall, and shoot the advertisement at the end of the hall. This will open a door to a maintenance closet across from the drinking fountains where you can obtain three stimpacks and a backpack. (sector 1596)
- Press the switch in the maintenance closet mentioned in secret #2 to open a door in the "Guns! Guns! Guns" store that leads to the right display case containing a megasphere. Press on the wall behind the megasphere to reveal a switch that will lower the adjacent display case, which contains a BFG9000. (sector 1685)
- In the server room with the yellow key, press on the black panel bordered with lights to reveal a secret security area (sector 2025) containing optional encounters, several items, including a computer area map and a supercharge, and most notably a switch which opens the three key doors, granting early access to the parking garage section of the map.
- Shoot the Mount Fuji vaporwave graphic in the "Spicy Fun" restaurant on the third floor of the mall to open the freezer behind the cash register for a medikit and a backpack. (sector 2087)
- In the parking garage, shoot the "L&K" advertisement next to the elevator switch to open a door slightly to the north, near the cell packs, to obtain a mega armor. (sector 2188)
When walking around the level, it is easy to catch a glimpse of sunken floor that is brighter than the surrounding floor (such as sector 1224). This comes from use of a lighting trick that level authors use where sections of floor are given a high brightness and and are sunken through the surrounding floor surrounded by missing textures, such that flat bleeding hides the hole with the surrounding floor's texture and brightness, and any linedef(s) above this hole have the high brightness—in this case, the sunken sections of floor are shallow and wide, making it easy to find angles where the illusion breaks.
