MAP20: Diamond Apocalypse is the twentieth map of Anomaly Report. It was designed by Michael Jan Krizik (valkiriforce) and uses the music track "And Blood Will Spill," originally composed by David Shaw (Tolwyn) for Memento Mori II. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 5:15.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

You start facing a gate which is guarded by imps, as well as two mancubi on towers to the east and west. Go through the gate, which opens automatically as you approach, to get a rocket launcher, then go east up two sets of steps and follow the path past a couple of shotgun guys/chaingunners to reach a switch. Flip the switch and drop into the room behind it to get an armor, deal with the imps and/or revenants that are released behind you, then flip the switch on the north wall to raise steps on either side of it. Climb up to the western chamber with the arachnotron and press the skull switch at the north end to lower a lift, ride it up and deal with any chaingunners waiting at the top before going north to a hall with a blood pit. Go to the staircase in the middle of the hall, which has one or two Hell knights on it, then look south to see a lion switch through a window and shoot it to open a set of bars to the east, which will allow you to reach the blue skull key (an arch-vile will teleport in to defend it on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels).

Go back to the hall and pass through the small doorway at the north end, cross a bridge then flip the switch on the other side to open the blue bars next to it. Pass through the bars and cross another bridge to reach a round staircase, then fight through some imps and shotgun guys to reach a teleporter at the top, which will put you inside the metal block in the central hall. Press the lion switch in front of you to lower the surrounding walls, and open the brick tower in front of you containing the red skull key; watch out for the two shotgun guys that ambush you as you enter the tower (or two chaingunners and an arch-vile on Hurt Me Plenty or higher). Go back to the round staircase and drop off the east side to land on a bridge, then open the red door ahead and use the teleporter behind it to go to the ledge overlooking the eastern area, which contains a spiderdemon. Follow the ledge past some imps to the south-west end and flip the switch here to lower the yellow skull key in the pit below.

With the yellow key, walk under the girders above the spiderdemon’s platform to reveal a button inside the north-west column. Press the button to reveal another one in the north-east column, then press it followed by the buttons in the south-east and south-west columns to lower the bars on either side of the yellow key pillar, allowing you to leave. Use the teleporter behind the bars to go back to the red door, then return to the round staircase and go down the steps on the west side to find some yellow bars as well as the switch to open them. Go round the corner to trigger an ambush by demons (and an arch-vile on UV and NM), then deal with the mancubi and imps in the room ahead before using the teleporter on the north side to go to the upper floor. Press the satyr switch at the north end of the ledge to lower the wall, revealing a group of demons and cacodemons, then press a second switch at the south end of the room to lower another teleporter behind you, which will send you back to the round staircase. Press the blue button in front of you to raise a step up to the platform behind you, then flip the switch on the platform to blow up the large diamond and end the level.

  1. In the room with the plasma gun west of the blood hall, open the miscolored north-east wall to get a megaarmor. (sector 386)
  2. At the north end of the first building, fall into the water to the east and take the teleporter. Open the north wall to get a megasphere. (sector 280)
  3. At the round staircase, head to the water at the north-east end and open the brown wall. Take the lift to a berserk pack. (sector 355)
