MAP22: Despair is the twenty-second map of Scythe. It was designed by Erik Alm, and uses the music track "Death's Bells" from TNT: Evilution.

Grab the berserk pack nearby and cross the bridge killing imps and getting a super shotgun. At the bottom of the steps kill the revenants and open the door to the big open area. In this area, you need to head into the small red shack containing some revenants and a switch. Be sure to hit it, then climb the stairs to the north of it to acquire the blue skull key. Now take the blue door to the southwest, walking down the stairs to a blood-filled area with a rocket launcher and a soul sphere. Some monsters may teleport in this area while you grab supplies. Walk up the stairs to the south, going under the bridge to get the red skull key (be mindful of a teleporting baron of Hell). Head back to the big open area, and you will notice that the platform with the plasma gun to the northwest is lowered for you to grab, but also the walkway with the megaarmor now leads to an opening with a cyberdemon in it. Make sure to kill him, then open the red door and ride the platform down to the exit room.

  1. In the outdoor area, drop into a pit in which the bloodfall runs down. Behind the bloodfall is a secret cave (sector 51) with a BFG9000 inside.
