MAP22: Flotsam in an Astral Sea v2.5 is the twenty-second map of The UnMaking since version 2.5. It was designed by scwiba.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the huge room with the chasm running through it, there is a section of ground sinking into the chasm that has several clips and a box of bullets on it. Descend to this platform and destroy a barrel at eye level. Drop down exactly where the barrel had been to collect some megaarmor. (thing 221)
  2. One of the gravestones in the floating cemetery has a switch on its back side. Press this to lower several gravestones. On the lower tier, a gravestone can now be used as a step to collect the supercharge. (sector 1166)
  3. Having flipped the switch in secret #2, climb to the higher tier of the cemetery and use a newly-lowered gravestone to get up to the health bonuses and partial invisibility. (sector 1183)
  4. As soon as you enter the library building, go up the stairs to the right until you see an opening onto the tops of the bookcases. Follow the bookcases to the left, jumping a few gaps along the way, and head toward a backpack perched on a higher shelf. You can drop behind a bookcase you would otherwise not have been able to access to find health and armor bonuses and a switch that will lower the backpack. (sector 1207)
  5. Follow the same route to the tops of the bookcases, but proceed along them toward the center of the room rather than to the left. There is a lower bookcase with three energy cells on it. (sector 1268)
  6. From the very beginning of the library building, go up the stairs to the left and all the way to the end of the room with the torches. There is a section of wall with crosses on it that looks slightly different. Press this to open a secret that can then be entered from the opposite side, after navigating the maze below. Inside is a berserk pack and a teleporter that will allow you to telefrag the cyberdemon if it has been spawned and is still blocking the exit. sector 1226)
  7. See secret #6. (sector 1311)
  8. From the raised section on either side of secret #6 and #7, you can drop into an isolated section of the bookcase maze for a computer area map and other pickups. (sector 1116)
  9. Standing in the shattered base area and facing the pyramid, follow the candles on your left until you reach a wall. There is a small space between the wall and the invisible barrier which you can fit through. This will lead to a lift, at the top of which is a plasma gun, energy cells, and health pickups. (sector 957)
  10. To the left side of the first staircase on the pyramid, there is a missing brick. Perform a precisely angled straferun down the stairs to get over this brick and access a super shotgun, backpack, and ammo. (sector 1331)
  11. Just past the rocket launcher on the way up the pyramid, you can drop to a lower tier of the structure for some clips and a megasphere. (sector 986)
  12. Three hidden switches must be shot in order to access this secret. From secret #9, look out the window to see one of the switches floating in the distance. The next switch can be seen past secret #10, and the final switch is visible through some missing bricks in secret #11. Once all three switches have been activated, a teleport in secret #11 will take you to a shrine with a demon key in it. (sector 1199)
  13. Beyond the blue door on the east side of the map, there is a gap you can squeeze into in order to stand on the lip of the computer consoles. Follow this lip around a corner to find a wall that has lowered. Inside is megaarmor and cell ammo. (sector 850)
  14. Upon reaching the maze-like section at the north end of the map (beyond the blue doors), look for a pool of water near the stairs with a box of bullets in front of it. One of the pipe walls is mirrored and lit differently than all others. Pass through this wall to find an invulnerability. (sector 346)
