MAP23: Court of the Crimson is the twenty-third map of Beta 64. It was designed by Antnee.

Secrets[edit]

  1. From the starting area, enter the structure straight ahead and move forward until you fall into a lava-filled cave. Here, take the first turn right into the lava to find an alcove with a chainsaw, a partial invisibility powerup (#2) and an energy cell pack. (thing 149)
  2. See secret #1. (thing 151)
  3. From secret #1, continue down the lava, and go right as soon as you see land again. Press the wall that looks slightly different to reveal a hallway with five health bonuses and a megaarmor. (sector 573)
  4. From secret #3, exit the hallway and follow the path to the right until you reach a more open section of the cave. Here you can see three stone blocks in the distance, with ammunition sitting on top of them. To the right of the blocks is a narrow corridor where you can find a berserk powerup (#5) and a radiation shielding suit. (thing 349)
  5. See secret #4. (thing 405)
  6. After picking up the yellow skull key, return to the room with the pillars, where a group of monsters will have spawned, including a cyberdemon. Kill them to remove the barriers leading to the room with an Unmaker. Picking it up counts as a secret.
  7. In the starting area, after unlocking the red doors, go where the northwestern door used to be, and you will notice a wall to the right side that looks less red than the others. Press it to obtain an energy cell pack (#8) and a computer area map. (thing 430)

  9. From the starting area, enter the room with the columns. To the left will be a column with a switch on its back. Press it to reveal a supercharge, which may be obtained by going through the red door, going up the ledge around the columns, and then jumping toward it. (thing 101)

Secret exit: After getting past the fake exit trap with the Hell knights, you will see a lift with a switch to go to the exit teleporter. Take it, but instead of entering the teleporter, make your way back to the bridge, which will spawn two pain elementals. From here you will see that another teleporter has opened to your left, in the river of magma. Enter it to be taken to MAP30: The Beyond.
