MAP23: Fear No Evil is the twenty-third map of Claustrophobia 1024. It was designed by Ronald Lubbelinkhof (Dutch Devil), and uses the music track "The Demons From Adrian's Pen" by Robert Prince.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Take the shotgun and use it to kill the imps (and demons on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels) ahead, then head to the north end and walk through the gap in the wall to land in the courtyard below - in this area, watch out for the arch-vile standing on the tallest tower as it can attack you without warning. Walk behind the ruined wall at the north end of the courtyard to find a skull switch and press it, which will cause several zombies and imps to teleport in, then go to the wall at the south end and walk behind it to find steps leading down to an armor and a teleporter, which will send you to the red skull key sitting on the north-east pillar.

Go back to the teleporter you just used and open the red skull bars next to it, kill a waiting chaingunner then take the super shotgun and press the satyr switch here to lower a second teleporter in the main courtyard; this will also cause imps (and revenants on Hurt Me Plenty or higher) to teleport to the courtyard. Go to the lowered teleporter near the center of the courtyard and use it to teleport to the tower, telefragging the arch-vile in the process, and grab the yellow skull key before dropping to the ground. Ignore the imps and Hell knights that teleport in for now and head due south to another teleporter, enter it to get back to the west wall then return to the starting point, where a plasma gun has appeared, and press the satyr switch here to open the exit. Kill the arch-vile that teleports in then drop into the courtyard again and head for the east doorway. The level ends as you walk through the doorway.

Other points of interest[edit]

A rocket launcher is hidden behind the wall in the south-west corner of the courtyard.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Press on the satyr face in the south-east corner to find a satyr switch. After pressing that switch, run back outside and towards where the red key was. There will be a satyr switch here, functioning as a lift. Ride it up, and the teleporter will take you to the supercharge. (sector 288)
