MAP23: MAP17 - Seoreh Cinatas is the twenty-third map of Switcheroom 2. It was designed by Thomas Seifert (tourniquet) and uses the music track "Dwarven Clanhall" by Brian Luzietti, originally used in Stonekeep. It is based on the layout of MAP17: Tenements.

Essentials[edit]

Red and yellow keys[edit]

Head straight forward past some zombiemen and imps to an intersection, then continue north to a sealed door - the right-hand wall will lower to reveal a couple of zombies and a skull switch. Press the switch to open a lift by the west door, then ride that lift up to a ledge with imps and press the skull switch here to raise two staircases at the intersection. Climb the eastern staircase to a room with an armor and press the gargoyle switch behind it to open the west door, then go through that door and carefully follow the path down to the red skull key; the door will close behind you. Two compartments with chaingunners and cacodemons will open as you approach the key, and picking it up will open the wall ahead revealing imps (plus revenants on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher).

From the red key, drop into the lava on the south side of the cavern and enter the red teleporter in the south-east corner to go to the ledge above. Press the skull switch here to re-open the door leading back to the intersection, then drop back into the lava and use the white teleporter in the south-west corner to get back to the path. Go back to the intersection and climb the west staircase to a red door, pass through it and kill one or two revenants that appear before pressing the lion switch on the east wall. Go up the eastern staircase again and press the satyr switch that has opened at the top to go down to a room with spectres, then head south (noting the pain elementals that are released to your left) to find a lift going up to a skull switch. Press this switch, then drop into the starting area below and head north; the sealed door you saw earlier has opened, letting you reach the T-bridge at the center of the map.

Take the rocket launcher in the middle of the bridge, then go through the western door and kill any demons that appear in the room ahead. Climb up to the top of the steps on the south side of the room to open a wall behind you, then run through that wall before it closes and press the gargoyle switch behind it to open a second switch at the top of the steps. After pressing the second switch, climb the steps on the north side of the room to enter a tunnel, follow it until you reach a circular plinth with a beating heart, then drop into the nearby blood pit (which contains mancubi on HMP or higher) and press the lion switch to lower a lift that goes up to the yellow skull key. On HMP or higher, taking the key will cause one or two arachnotrons to appear at the starting point, as well as an arch-vile on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM).

Blue key and exit[edit]

Return to the T-bridge and open the east door using the yellow key, then go straight forward to two sets of steps. Go up the southern set of steps, look across the lava pit here and shoot the lion switch on the other side to open a wall at the bottom of the steps, then go through that wall and climb the stairs to a skull button that will raise a bridge over the lava pit. Cross the bridge and drop into the gap on the other side (which contains pain elementals on HMP or higher), press the gargoyle switch inside it to raise the floor then collect the plasma gun before going to the north side of the room. A second bridge has risen over the lava pit here, which you can cross to get the blue skull key.

With the blue key, go back to the T-bridge where (on HMP or higher) you will need to deal with cacodemons and a cyberdemon that teleport in. Go to the blue bars at the north end of the lava and open the door opposite them using the blue key, press the skull button to lower the bars then open the gate behind them to enter a marble hall. Climb up to the western ledge using the curved steps at the north end of the hall, then open the door here to enter a cavern with a large wooden structure that holds arch-viles. Follow the path round the structure and press the skull switch at the very top to open an entrance behind you, then step through it to enter a dark room; you can activate the lights by approaching the evil eye on the west side of the room, which is protected by one or two revenants. Press the gargoyle switch at the south end to open a wall in the marble hall and lower a teleporter that will take you back there; on UV and NM, watch out for another arch-vile that is released behind you.

Back in the marble hall, climb up to the eastern ledge and dispose of any waiting chaingunners and revenants, then press the red skull button to lower a lift. At the top of the lift is a room with three tunnels, which open gradually as you walk into them - the correct order is north, south, north, east, south, north, east, south and east. Kill the arch-vile and chaingunners waiting at the end of the east tunnel, then step on the white teleporter pad and dispose of an arachnotron ambush before entering the sky hole to finish the level.

  1. In the first intersection, take the lift south of the west door. Lower a wall to the west to get a backpack. (sector 252)
  2. After raising the steps in the first intersection, go up the west set and use the switch where the candelabra is. Quickly run down the steps and up the east set, then north-east to an opening that has a computer area map and medikits. (sector 89)
  3. At the west end, climb the south steps and open a wall to the south to find a partial invisibility. (sector 465)
  4. At the west side, approach the blood pit from the west and jump south-east to the wall. On the other side is an energy cell pack and a plasma gun (only on UV and NM). (sector 155)
  5. At the east side, lower the south-east platform and head south. Take another lift up and go to the lone health bonus. Lower the north wall there and take the teleporter to get a megasphere. (sector 254)
  6. At the north end, take the west set of steps to the door, then quickly go back up the steps, south, and into a fire wall to teleport to a supercharge (not on Hey Not Too Rough or lower). (sector 255)
  7. In the wooden area east of the north end, take the lift up, but as it rises, hug the south wall and go through to find a passage to energy cell packs and a medikit. (sector 365)
