MAP23: Spectral Shift is the twenty-third map of Necromantic Thirst. It was designed by Maxime Bisiaux (Datacore) and William Huber (WH-Wilou84), and uses the music track "The Gateway of Hell" by Sam Woodman (Metabolist) from Hell Revealed II.

Secrets[edit]
- In the area east of the cross hub, at the southeast end, enter a compartment to the south and use the skull eyes to the northeast. Head north to get a berserk pack. (sector 639)
- In the hall south of the cross hub, go to the southwest corner and face the west wall. Find a switch here and shoot it, then take the west door and go north to get a megasphere (soul sphere on Ultra-Violence or higher). (sector 326)
- Leave the west area by going southeast into a new cave. Before heading south, look towards the north wall with the green face. To the right of it, look at the column of skulls and use the green one at your level to raise rocks behind you. Drop down and use the switch to open a passage with a rocket, a megaarmor, and stimpacks. (sector 3840)
- Take the door west of the cross hub and open the large door to the north. Approach this hall and jump to the thin wall to the west. Run north and jump across twice. As soon as you land on the next thin ledge, look west and look for a button. Shoot it, then return to the entrance of the hall and enter the alcove to the east to get armor bonuses and a berserk pack. (sector 6848)
- After you get the blue skull key, move westward until you are in a cave with two large rock columns. Shoot a blue switch to the north to open a wall with health bonuses and a computer area map. (sector 9326)
- Open the blue door in the west area and in the next hall, go to the northwest corner. Use the north wall and the switch behind it to reveal a teleporter to the east. Take it, go a little south, then west to the lowering wall to get a megaarmor and stimpacks. (sector 2683)
Bugs[edit]
Two shotgun guys (things 1420 and 1598) have no flags set for any of the three difficulty classes, so they do not actually appear in the level.
