MAP24: Gaia's Temple is the twenty-fourth map of the megawad Scythe 2. It was designed by Erik Alm and uses a music track taken from The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (a MUS conversion of either dag_11.mid from the promotional free MIDI pack, or 21.HMI from the game itself).

At the start go left, down the stairs and continue straight ahead. Climb up the stairs and flip the switch at the end of the hallway to open the door to your right. Go forward and turn right at the intersection. Enter the library then make a hairpin turn to the right and press the switch ahead to your left. Turn around and go through the opening behind the fence. In this area use the switch to your left, turn around and escape through the opening in front.

Jump down from the window to your right to arrive at the lava again. Climb the stairs in front and collect the yellow key to the left. Go down the stairs ahead and turn left to find the blue key. Turn around, turn left and continue forward until you spot a switch to your right. Make your way to it and flip it. Face right, move straight ahead and climb up the stairs to your left. Keep going and drop down into a grassy room. Go through the opening to the left and follow the main path to a fenced room.

Go around the pillar and press the switch on its backside to lower the bars to your right. Make your way to the opposite side and climb the stairs to your left. You will spot a corridor ahead, but as you approach it the floor will lower. Climb the stairs to your left then make a hairpin turn to the right to arrive near the corridor. Follow the corridor to the end and drop down into the pit. Cross between the wood planks to raise the floor, allowing you to escape the pit.

Turn around, approach the corridor and turn right to find a switch. Use it then turn around and drop down from the window to your left. Make your way to the platform where the yellow key was to pick up the red key. With all three keys in hand, go to the southwestern corner of the lava area to find a pit with two arrows pointing down. Drop down into the pit and flip the switches behind all three colored doors to your left. As you press the last switch turn around and use the switch ahead. Do a 180º turn and escape through the teleporter to your right. You'll arrive on the platform where the yellow and red keys were, with a wall lowering straight ahead. When it finishes lowering, follow the pathway until you spot two openings on the sides. Flip the switches on the side rooms, then return to the main pathway to find the exit portal unlocked.


  1. There is an invulnerability, located west from the start (sector 1489). To reach it, you have to go to the area with the switch that lowers the red key. From there, jump north, onto the green ledge above the stairs. From that point, strafejump to the ledge to the northwest, and then strafejump again, this time southwest, to the ledge on the opposite end. You should then jump to the invulnerability from there.
