Essentials[edit]

Turn right as the level starts and press on the lift in front of you to lower it, then ride the lift up and follow the ledge to a switch, collecting a super shotgun on the way. Flip the switch then drop to the ground and head north to a water stream which has lowered to reveal one or two cacodemons (you will find a chaingun on the way), then drop down the hole and head forward to a T-junction. Turn right at the junction and follow the water round to a button (passing a rocket launcher on the way), which you can press to raise a bridge from the nukage pit in front of you, then go back to the T-junction (where some revenants and cacodemons have been released) and head west until you get round to the other side of the nukage. From here you can cross the bridge you just raised to reach the red keycard, watching out for cacodemons (or a cacodemon and pain elemental on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels) that are released on the way.

Go back to where you found the rocket launcher and open the red key door here, which leads to a room containing a vine-covered nukage tank surrounded by a green ledge. Follow the ledge round to its north-east corner to find a Hell knight (and an arch-vile on UV and NM) guarding a button, which will raise a bridge leading to the tank and reveal one or two arachnotrons along with the blue keycard inside it. Go back to the west side of the room and step across the bridge you just raised to get the blue key, then drop to the ground and kill any waiting shotgun guys. Press the button on the north side of the tank to lower a lift behind you, revealing a mancubus guarding a second button that will lower the lift on the east side of the room. Step past this lift before it rises to find one or two shotgun guys guarding a third button that lowers the lift on the south side of the room, then step over that lift and open the blue key barrier hidden behind it.

Flip the switch in front of you to descend to an outdoor area with red and white rocks populated by demons and some other monsters. Collect the berserk pack in front of you then head south-west towards a gray building - the door of the building does not open, but if you walk south and west around the outside of the building you will find a tiny crate that you can step on to climb through the window. Press the button on the west wall to lower the lift next to it, ride the lift up and open the door at the top to return to the starting area. Use the lift on the west side of this area and ride it up then follow the ledge round to a blue bar with a switch behind it; after flipping the switch, drop to the ground and head to the now-open doorway in the south wall where some revenants and a knight (or arch-vile on Hurt Me Plenty or higher) have appeared. Step through the doorway and walk towards the exit sign to finish the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

A shotgun can be found in the north-east corner of the starting area, and a partial invisibility can be found in the north-west corner.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Head north-west of the starting point towards the partial invisibility, then press on the wall to the west that is slightly damaged. Take the lift up to get health bonuses and an armor. (sector 9)
  2. At the red key area, jump south-west towards a small section above the nukage and hug the wall until you get armor bonuses and a computer area map. (sector 65)
  3. At the eastern outdoor area, head to the south-east end, towards a medikit, then use the wall to the west to get a supercharge (or megasphere on I'm Too Young To Die and Hey Not Too Rough) and a plasma gun. (sector 64)
