Walkthrough[edit]

Map of Envy
Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

You start out in a small chamber with some weapons and monsters. Open the door and head out. A chasm blocks the way to the right, so head left, up the stairs and on, killing arachnotrons along the way. You will eventually end up in an outdoor area, with some number of arachnotrons, cacodemons, and/or spider mastermind(s) (varies by difficulty). Follow the ledge all the way around to a lift, and take it up. Note that the green, goat-head wall panel here is a door back onto the stairs. But first, go along the higher ledge, all the way around the other way, to a satyr-switch. Throw the switch to raise a bridge across that chasm near the start, so go back there.

Across that chasm, is a small room blocked by a yellow bar, and holding barons of Hell. Head up the nearby stairs into the next big room. The yellow key is right in the middle of this room, but watch out for the cyberdemon who emerges from the bloodfall. Open the yellow bar, and step onto the teleporter in the small room. You'll appear on a walkway in the middle of the outdoor area. At the end of the walkway is the exit -- guarded by an arch-vile on higher skill levels.

Other points of interest[edit]

If you fall down into the chasm near the start, the west wall (that you just fell down) is actually a lift back up.

Secrets[edit]

  1. The sector where the cyberdemon emerges counts as a secret. Walk through the bloodfall to get a soul sphere and backpacks. (sector 127)

Routes and tricks[edit]

In the outdoor area, you can jump down from the lift onto the center walkway, right to the exit, bypassing about half the level.
