MAP26: Aura of Evil is the twenty-sixth map of Claustrophobia 1024. It was designed by Cody Stirm (Butts), with edits by Josh Sealy (Joshy), Joonas Äijälä (Jodwin) and Brett Harrell (Mechadon), and uses a MIDI renditon of "Quutamo" by Apocalyptica, sequenced by Jerryteacup.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

As the level starts there are numerous imps and revenants on the red rocks behind you, and a baron of Hell (or arch-vile on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher) overlooking the courtyard. Head north to a step with a chaingun and shotgun, then walk east to enter the marble fort and climb the steps; bars will close behind you, and you will need to fight off imps and other monsters that teleport in while you wait for a second set of bars at the south end to open. Once those bars open, go through them and collect an armor then turn right to see a Hell knight (or baron on HMP or higher) protecting a rocket launcher and a red switch.

After pressing the switch, go back down to ground level, collecting a berserk pack that has appeared inside the fort on the way, then kill the demons, imps, knights and arch-vile that have appeared before going to the north wall to press a skull switch that has opened. Pressing the switch closes the entrance to the fort and causes yet more monsters, including multiple revenants, mancubi and an arachnotron to appear; if you are low on health, make sure to take the supercharge that will appear by the fort entrance. Eventually a teleporter in the south-east corner of the courtyard will lower, taking you to the exit switch on the platform overlooking the courtyard.

  1. On the exit platform, shoot the eye switch to the left to raise a block so you can go onto the rail. Enter the teleporter at the end of the rail to find a megasphere. (sector 350)
