MAP26: Heavenly Gantlet is the twenty-sixth map of 1000 Lines 2 - Community Project. It was designed by LowGcifer and uses a MIDI rendition of "Wanderlust" by Nightwish as its music track.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Take the super shotgun and chaingun then open the (south) door in front of you; outside are a pack of zombiemen, shotgun guys and demons are guarding an armor, but you will also need to contend with six revenants that are released into the starting room as well. Walk south to drop into a blood pit, ready to face a group of imps, chaingunners and revenants that appear in front of you (there will also be a Hell knight waiting behind the center platform on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level, or an arch-vile on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM)). Press the face switch on the east side of the platform to lower a lift, ride it up then press a demon switch on top of the platform to open a door in the north-west corner of the pit.

Go through the door you just opened to find a rocket launcher then turn left to see two cacodemons (one is replaced with a pain elemental on HMP or higher) guarding another lift. Press the gargoyle switch to lower the lift, kill the shotgun guys blocking your path then walk forward - a closet with (depending on skill level) a shotgun guy, revenant or arch-vile will open behind you, and some imps, demons and knights will appear on the ledge in front of you. Go outside and head south into a gray room, then press the skull switch in the north-east corner to open a closet behind you with demons and knights (plus two revenants on UV and NM) guarding a demon switch. Pressing this switch will lower a pillar outside holding the red skull key.

Go back to where you found the rocket launcher and head up the stairs to a red key door, go through it then head east to another door that you can open to reach a walkway over a lava pit. Follow the walkway round to its east side to trigger an ambush by imps, mancubi and a revenant, then continue going round until you drop down to a ledge on the north side where you can fight the monsters safely. Ride the lift here up to the blue skull key and kill an arch-vile that rises from the floor to defend it, then open the gold door to return to the starting room. Head west through another door, then fight your way past some imps in a blood trench to find a BFG9000 in front of a teleporter.

Top up your health before entering the teleporter, as there will be an arch-vile in front of you along with seven revenants and four mancubi; there will also be three revenants and a mancubus behind you, so use the BFG to kill them before they inflict serious damage (on HMP or lower, if you enter the teleporter then immediately step back you will land on an invulnerability). Ahead of you is a blood pit containing many imps, revenants and cacodemons - use the BFG again to clear them out, then head up the east staircase and enter a circular teleporter at the top to finish the level.
