MAP26: Into the Skies is the twenty-sixth map of Claustrophobia 1024 2. It was designed by Joonas Äijälä (Jodwin) and uses a remixed MIDI rendition of "Shadow Boss" from Double Dragon II, sequenced by Magus15, as its music track.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Head straight forward past some shotgun guys and imps to get a megaarmor, then turn right and follow the path past some chaingunners until you reach a depression. Continue east, dodging a revenant ambush, until you reach a barred doorway with a button next to it. Press the button to open the bars and step through them to enter the center room (the bars will close behind you), and slay all the imps that teleport in, then go through the south-east doorway and head north down some steps to confront an arch-vile that teleports in. Use the plasma gun in this area to kill it, then press the button by the doorway to open a set of bars to the south, which lead back to the starting point.

Back at the starting point, kill the revenants that teleport into the neighboring room then collect the super shotgun and press the button that has appeared in the north-east corner. Now go back outside and head north until you see three or four pain elementals appear ahead, kill them then press the button that has appeared in the depression; this will eventually reopen the bars leading back to the center room, but you will need to fight off some Hell knights (and barons of Hell on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels) while you wait - during the battle, a supercharge and megaarmor will teleport in along with ammo to help you.

Once the bars open, go inside the center room then enter the south-east area again and press the button that has appeared here; this will cause another button to rise by the north-west corner of the center room, and bring in imps and two arch-viles. Ready yourself before pressing the final button, as it will cause a pack of imps, knights, barons and revenants to teleport in, along with cacodemons and arachnotrons that appear outside; they will be followed by a wave of chaingunners, revenants and demons, along with stimpacks and energy cells. Once the barrier in the north-west corner of the center room has opened, press the button behind it to finish the level.
