MAP27: The Shrine is the seventh and final map of Eternal Doom IV. It was designed by Esa Repo (Espi) and uses the music track "The Demon's Dead" by Robert Prince, from Doom II.

The Shrine was featured in Doomworld's Top 100 Most Memorable Maps, placing 15th.

Secrets[edit]

  1. When you get to a hole with gray water in the second building, jump in, then head south, west, south, and resurface. Head east and swim down again to find a green armor. (sector 4990)
  2. Head south from that hole with gray water and west into the next room. Head up the steps and to the northwest wall. Push on that wall to get the blur artifact. (sector 4546)
  3. After opening the bars north of the hole with gray water, head through and into the hall. As you go west, look for a bloody mess to also find a hole in the wall. Jump in to find shotgun shells, a box of ammo, and another hole with gray water. (sector 5307)
  4. Jump in the hole with gray water in Secret #3, then swim east, then north, then resurface at the end. You will find shotgun shells, medikits, rockets, and armor bonuses. (sector 5924)
  5. At the westernmost end of the second building, you can see a soul sphere behind a bar with a pool of gray water near it. To get to it, head north to another pool and swim down, then swim southwest and surface there to get the soul sphere. (sector 3982)
  6. Head to the stair maze north of the blue key cave section, then get to the top and to the west side. Head south, down the steps, and towards two stimpacks. Go towards the stimpacks and use the wall there, then crouch and follow the passage to the drop-off with a megaarmor. (sector 6322)
  7. Head into the building west of the stair maze and head north to the gray pool. Get to either the west or east sides of the pool and swim down, then head south and to the center. Head north and northwest, then surface to find medikits. (sector 5552)
  8. Head into the building west of the stair maze and head north to the gray pool. Get to either the west or east sides of the pool and swim down, then head south and to the center. Head north and northeast, then surface to find rockets and a box of ammo. (sector 6128)
  9. Head into the building west of the stair maze and head north to the gray pool. Get to either the west or east sides of the pool and swim down, then head south and to the center. Head south to find two tunnels. Enter the left one and at the end, surface to access the southwestern portion of this area. (sector 5339)
  10. At Secret #9, head behind a crate at the northwest end and open the door. Grab the green armor on the east window. (sector 6318)
  11. At the eastern end of the map, with the square section with the tower in the middle of the gray water, get into the room to the east and climb the steps that lead to the bridge leading to the tower. From there, head north on the perimeter wall, then west. Jump across to the west, then follow the wall all the way to the south side, where the path slopes to a soul sphere. (sector 2004)
  12. In the basement area (which you can access by falling into a hole northeast of where the red skull key is) head to the northernmost area with the red carpet. Get on the high ledge and jump to the northwest mural. Open it to get a soul sphere. (thing 2209 via thing 2210, ZDoom's "secret trigger" actor)
