MAP28: Nightfire is the twenty-eighth map of Anomaly Report. It was designed by Michael Jan Krizik (valkiriforce) and uses the music track "The Helix," originally composed by David Shaw (Tolwyn) for Requiem. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 4:15.

Essentials[edit]
Take the shotgun in front of you then go up the steps to a hole and drop down it to land in a red cave, which is overlooked by two mancubi. Go north along the lava river until you drop down to a cross-shaped platform, which is guarded by arachnotrons and imps (or revenants on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher), then run to the ledge at the north end of the cavern and open the door to find the blue skull key; taking it will lower the walls around you to reveal three Hell knights and/or revenants. Go back into the cavern and use either of the white teleporters in the lava to get back on the platform, then enter the teleporter at the west end to go to the ledge on that side. Open the door here and follow the tunnel to a room with a couple of imps, flip the switch at the north end then kill the monsters that are released behind you before going back to the cavern. Teleport back to the platform and enter the eastern teleporter to go to the ledge on that side, open the door here then go south-east to another teleporter, which will send you back to the red cave.
Open the south-eastern door in the red cave to enter an ice cave, which is defended by two arch-viles and a pain elemental on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM), then go north through another door to enter a cavern with arachnotrons who are guarding four sets of bars. Flip the switch next to the first set of bars to open them, then go through to find an arachnotron protecting the switch to open the next set of bars. Repeat this process for the next two switches (the arachnotron guarding the final switch will teleport behind you) to open the southernmost set of bars, then go through them to find a pain elemental guarding another door. Open the door to face a knight and some imps (plus revenants and an arch-vile on HMP or higher) then go down the steps to find the red skull key. Flip the switch in the south-west corner of the room to lower it, revealing a path back to the red cave.
Go back to the red cave and climb the stairs at the south end to a red door, then open it to enter a cave with four floating bridges. Cross the first bridge and press the gargoyle switch on the other side to open it, then step through to teleport to a zig-zagging path. Follow the path past some shotgun guys to get back to the bridge area, cross the second bridge and press the lion switch on the other side, then step through to teleport to a round cage. Quickly kill all the enemies outside the cage then shoot the three buttons to open the barriers blocking your path back to the bridge area. Cross the third bridge to reach a satyr switch and step through it to teleport to another cage which is surrounded by imps, then kill the knight waiting ahead before going down the steps to reach the back of the cage. Press the gargoyle switch at the south-east end of the cage to open the door leading back to the bridge area, then cross the final bridge to get the yellow skull key.
Go back to where you found the red skull key and flip the switch inside the southern chamber to open the yellow bars next to it. Go up the stairs and look south at the top to see the exit switch, which is guarded by a knight on UV and NM.

- In the ice caves, open the first set of bars and go through. Go through the waterfall to get an armor. (sector 359)
- In the yellow key area, on the west bridge, look north and shoot the skull switch. Teleport to the zigzag path then climb the stairs behind you to get to the platforms above. Jump across them to a supercharge. (sector 345)
- In the south-east lava area, head to the north end of the lava and find a small teleporter. Take it to get the outer wall to get a berserk pack. (sector 160)
