Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
At the start, face left and drop down. Go up the stairs in front and jump across the gap. Climb up the stairs and face right to spot a megasphere. Jump to its platform to lower the wall in front, then make your way to it. Climb up both sets of stairs to arrive at a room with a big crate. Head to the left, past the crate and a wall will lower to your left. Go through it and drop down to the floor below. Head to either of the openings in front on the right side and flip the switch. Turn around and make your way to the opening on the left to raise stairs in front. Climb both sets of stairs, go to the right and press the switch on the left. Turn around, face right and continue straight ahead to drop down to the ground. Turn right and use the switch inside the alcove. Exit the alcove, make a hairpin turn to the right and go forward to spot platforms leading to an upper ledge. Hop on the platforms to reach the ledge and flip the switch in front to reveal the exit portal behind it.
Secrets[edit]
- Go into the damaging lava at the eastern part of the map where the switch is. Look for a candle to the north, where you can open a passage for a teleporter. You will find a megasphere, a radiation suit, and energy cell packs on the top of this hill. (sector 262)
Bugs[edit]
The sides of the high doorway at northeastern stairs are untextured, appearing as flat bleeds. Part of the hole in the east pillar of the overhang is also untextured and showing a flat bleed.
The candle hinting at the secret snaps up off the ground when the entrance is opened.
Though care was taken to add teleporters to areas outside of the intended playable space where a player may find themselves after an accidental arch-vile jump, some areas have no such protection and are capable of softlocking a player:
- The far northeast (sector 107) (a player can also simply walk over here by going between the two northernmost trees from the secret)
- The northeast holes in the castle walls (sector 696)
- The hole in the west pillar of the overhang (sector 529)
