Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Avoid shooting immediately as the level starts, as there is a caged cyberdemon behind you; you will see a shotgun and rocket launcher ahead, guarded by Hell knights and chaingunners as well as zombiemen on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or imps on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare. Head around the large brick wall in the center of the map, passing chaingunners to the north or imps to the south, to reach a blood pool on the other side then step on the metal lift here, which will automatically rise and carry you up to a berserk pack guarded by two knights (or revenants on HMP or higher). Flip the switch behind the berserk then drop back down to the blood pool, which has lowered to reveal a teleporter with a super shotgun on it; enter this teleporter then walk forward until you see a platform rise to your right, holding two pain elementals guarding an armor and the blue skull key that will teleport outside when they see you.
Use the teleporter on the east side of the room to get back outside, then activate either of the lifts in the center wall and use them to get back to the platform that held the berserk pack. Run north-east to land on a ledge with the exit teleporter (currently sealed by red bars) and press the blue button on the north wall, which will release some revenants (and arch-viles on HMP or higher) but will also open an alcove in the north-west corner of the map holding the red skull key. Taking the key will allow the cyberdemon to teleport to the center platform, as well as bringing in some chaingunners by the exit teleporter; get back to the central platform and leap across to the exit teleporter again, then press the red button on the east wall to lower the bars around it so you can leave. Watch out for a baron of Hell (or arch-vile on HMP or higher) that teleports in as the bars start to lower.
Other points of interest[edit]
Secrets[edit]
- In the blue key area, you will notice that the mouth of one of the lion switches is not lit. Shoot it to reveal a supercharge (megasphere on I'm Too Young To Die and Hey Not Too Rough) near the teleporter out of this area. (sector 65)
