Overview[edit]
You use the complete Sigil to enter the heart of the alien vessel, which contains a nest from which the Entity will emerge. Upon entering the room, one of two things will occur depending on choices made earlier in the game:
- If you killed Macil before disposing of the Oracle, you will hear BlackBird's voice, who acts as if she has been using the player to reach her own plateau of power via the Sigil. However, when her lines close out, her voice morphs into that of the Entity itself, revealing that either the Entity can take on the voice of others, and BlackBird's true fate is unknown, or that she was the Entity itself.
- If you trusted Macil and destroyed the converter, a voice, presumably that of the Entity, tells the player that even though you have crushed its Order, it will prevail, infect and twist you to its will.
Two possible endings can be gotten at any time in this level.
- If you die while fighting the Entity, the worst ending is received. Humanity is subjugated and driven to extinction, then the alien vessel leaves the planet.
- If you kill the Entity having previously trusted the Oracle, the "middle" ending is received. Although the Order is defeated, BlackBird relates that it will take many generations for humans to purge the alien virus from their bodies - if humanity survives that long.
- If you kill the Entity having previously trusted Macil, the best ending is received. Richter triumphantly announces the defeat of the Order, and BlackBird reveals themselves to you in person, explaining that a cure for the virus can be developed using the Order's factory.
Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Walk straight forward to a lift and ride it down, then continue going forward (east) to a door with a Sigil symbol on it and head through to the Entity's chamber - the entrance will close behind you. Once the Entity's voiceover has finished, it will appear at the center of the room and begin to fly freely. There are several walkover lines dotted around the room that will teleport the Entity if it crosses them.
The Entity attacks with all types of Sigil blasts and can only be harmed by your own Sigil attacks - stay on the move and have a healing item selected in your inventory at all times. When the Entity dies it will split into three sub-entities that attack with smaller energy bolts; you must kill all three sub-entities using the Sigil to finish the game.
