This level occupies the map slot MAP29. For other maps which occupy this slot, see Category:MAP29.

MAP29: Initiation is the thirty-first map of Hell To Pay. The discrepancy between map slot and progression number is because the MAP31 and MAP32 are inserted between MAP15 and MAP16 as part of the regular progression, instead of being secret levels.

Other points of interest[edit]


  1. In the opened tunnel in the western part of the map with the chaingun and revenant ambush, flip (or press if you have already flipped it) the blue skull switch and ride the elevator up to ride a lowered section of the wall leading to a teleporter. This will take you to a megasphere in the higher section of the starting area. This may take you a few tries to get as you have to be quick. (sector 197)
  2. When you open the eastern part of the map, a wall will lower with a Hell knight, two lost souls and an imp. The wall has two boxes of rockets, a backpack and medikits. (sector 60)
