MAP29: Taggart Sails to Orion is the twenty-ninth map of Claustrophobia 1024 2. It was designed by Joonas Äijälä (Jodwin) and uses a MIDI rendition of "The Pharaoh Sails to Orion" by Nightwish as its music track.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

You start in a cage that will lower you into a small courtyard, and will also receive a megasphere, super shotgun, backpack and ammo thanks to a voodoo doll. Once you reach the ground, wait for the wooden gates ahead to lower and kill any revenants (and an arch-vile on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher), then go up the steps behind the gates and walk west to a blood pool. Press the skull switch in the alcove at the north end of the pool to open the door next to it, kill one or two chaingunners that teleport in then go through the door and head forward until you pass an alcove with a berserk pack - as you do, two passages will open overhead and demons will be fired out of them. Fight them off, take the berserk to restore your lost health then go through the bars that have opened at the north end of the hallway and run forward to the east side of the courtyard, where chaingunners (and an arch-vile on HMP or higher) have teleported in.

Step through any of the doorways in the east wall to reach a balcony, kill more chaingunners that appear behind you then press the skull switch in the south-east corner to trigger an ambush by cacodemons. Go back into the hallway and pass through the door that has opened in the north wall, then walk straight forward to another skull switch; a baron of Hell will teleport in as you approach it. Press this switch then go back to the courtyard, kill the revenants and chaingunners that have appeared then climb up the steps to the top, to press another switch that has appeared on the wooden platform here - this will lower all the interior walls, then cause a pack of revenants, cacodemons, Hell knights, barons (and an arch-vile on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare) to teleport in. Eventually a switch will open on the north wall, and pressing it will open the nearby door and reveal a cyberdemon behind it.

Go through the door to enter an octagonal room, then continue west through a second door and kill the revenants waiting on the steps ahead, as well as an arch-vile that appears when you walk past the blood pool. Press the skull switch at the top of the steps then go back to the octagonal room, where the east wall has lowered to reveal knights/barons and one or two arch-viles who are guarding a megasphere and yet another switch. Press the switch then quickly head back to the octagonal room to avoid being surrounded by a large number of imps and one to three arch-viles that teleport in, then go back into the east room to press another switch that has opened on the north wall. Doing so allows you to reach the exit portal, which is on the north wall of the octagonal room.

Other points of interest[edit]

Leaving the playable area by any means, such as an arch-vile jump, will teleport you into a stack of barrels and kill you.
