MAP30: Icono del pecado (named "Logotipo Maldavo" on the automap) is the thirtieth and final map of Doom 2 in Spain Only. It was designed by Richard Frei (Tarnsman) (credited as El Pedersen) and uses the music track "Vamo' allá flamenco," originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu for Final Fantasy IX, sequenced to MIDI. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 3:00.

Essentials[edit]

Walk forward and interact with the keyboard, then step backwards into a teleporter. A horde of demons will be in front of you, and walking forward reveals some revenants behind you. Grab the chaingun and two boxes of bullets in front of you. Slip past the demons to grab the yellow keycard, and make the demons and revenants infight. Be mindful of the arch-vile behind the blue door on skill levels Ultra-Violence and Nightmare! Once you have picked up the yellow keycard, a closet with a horde of chaingunners will open up. Most of them will infight and kill each other. Imps and more revenants will teleport in. Kill all enemies currently alive and open the yellow door. Inside there is a backpack with two medikits, a shotgun with 8 shotgun shells, and the red keycard. Picking up the red keycard will raise up pillars with revenants, and imps will teleport in. Kill them and open the red door. Inside there is a super shotgun, two boxes of shotgun shells, two medikits and a blue keycard. Picking up the blue keycard lowers pillars to the floor, with Hell knights and two barons of Hell on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare!, along with more Hell knights telporting in at the red door. Kill them and go back out to the blue door, open it and the exit door, fall down, and walk forward towards giant band of mariachis to end the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

The closet with the revenants behind you at the start has two medikits and an armor.

Secrets[edit]

  1. The sector you start in is a secret and is impossible to miss. (sector 37)

Bugs[edit]

Teleporting to the main part of the map triggers a visplane overflow unless playing on a limit-removing port. This is intentional.

Technical information[edit]

This level crashes DOOM2.EXE by intentionally causing a visplane overflow. This was a deliberate choice by the designers, as the icon is described as "too sinful" for vanilla. This makes MAP30 the only level in Doom 2 in Spain Only that requires a limit-removing source port.
