MAP30: The Final Conflict is the thirtieth and final map of Doom 2 Reloaded. It was designed by Andy Stewart (eschdoom). The par time is 5:45.

Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
A monster spawner will activate as soon as the level starts; however, it does not pose an immediate threat to you. Go straight forward until you reach a marble teleporter and enter it to teleport to the easternmost room, collect all the weapons and pickups here then enter the teleporter at the north end of the room to go to the crucifix hall. Fight your way past numerous monsters to the north end of the hall to get inside the crucifix, then run straight forward to a teleporter that goes to the final boss arena; one to four arch-viles will be released behind the teleporter when you get close to it.
Use caution on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or higher, as the arena will be overlooked by one or two cyberdemons. Take a radiation shielding suit then drop into the lava and go to the south end to find two skull switches, then press the south-eastern switch to open a set of bars and release a number of revenants into the arena. Go through the doorway on the west side of the arena and press the switch here to lower a lift, ride it up to the ledge with the zombiemen/cyberdemons then go up the steps here to another switch; pressing it raises the lift in the middle of the arena so you can attack the Icon of Sin, but also allows the spawned monsters to start teleporting in. Slay the zombies/arch-viles that appear in the cages, drop into the lava then press the skull switch south of the lift to lower it - as the lift rises, you must fire a well-timed rocket into the Icon's brain to damage it. The level ends when the Icon explodes.
Other points of interest[edit]
The number of monsters that are actually spawned by the Icon varies depending on skill level. The monsters are initially spawned in two enclosures, but only monsters spawned in the northern enclosure can teleport to the rest of the map; monsters that spawn in the southern enclosure will be crushed. More spawn spots are present on lower skill levels; because the spawner cycles through each available spot in turn, this means that on lower skill levels, more monsters are placed in the crusher and fewer monsters will be able to teleport into the map.
Secrets[edit]
- Just before the teleporter to the final boss arena, the wall lowers ahead revealing arch-viles. Get one of them to blast you over the wall at the north end and you will get an invulnerability. Press on the wall to the south to exit. (sector 387)
- On the ledge with the cyberdemons, straferun across the blocks all the way to the east ledge with the spiderdemons for this secret. (sector 252)
- Take the teleporter in secret #2 to reach a ledge on the right side of the arena. Straferun west across the blocks to the switch. (sector 223)
- After using the switch in secret #3, straferun back east across the blocks, then straferun north. There is an opening with a teleporter that opened once you hit the switch from before, but you need to make a precise jump to reach it. When you do, you will reach a room next to Romero's head; you can press the switch here to crush him. (sector 127)
