Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
You start at the south end of a large crossroads. Take the rocket launcher and boxes of rockets in front of you then follow the path north to the middle of the cross, which has a block with four barons of Hell (or a cyberdemon on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher); there are also groups of cacodemons that will be released when you step on the other sides of the cross. Take the west path and follow it all the way to the end to find a door, which is guarded by two arachnotrons on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM), then go through the door to enter a river area with imps, demons, Hell knights and chaingunners. Climb up two sets of steps at the east end of this area and go north at the top to reach a curved ledge with some revenants, then enter the room at the west end to find the red skull key. Taking the key will lock you in the room and open three closets containing spectres and shotgun guys; after killing them you will need to press the switch inside the northern closet to open the barrier blocking your way out.
Go back to the middle of the crossroads and take the north path, which will bring you to a supercharge opposite a lift, then lower the lift to enter a water pool with some spectres. Go round to the north side of the building here to find an entrance, then go inside to see several ledges with zombiemen above you; you must step on the lifts below each ledge to raise your up to the top level where you can flip a switch to get the blue skull key. Taking the key will release a pack of cacodemons on to the north path, along with revenants on HMP and two pain elementals on UV and NM.
Go back to the middle of the crossroads and take the north path, which will bring you to a BFG9000 in front of another door. Go through the door and head down the steps to face two arachnotrons, then step on the white teleporter behind them to go to a stepped area with cacodemons as well as barons and one or two cyberdemons. Press the bottom step to lower it like a lift and climb up to the top to get the yellow skull key, then flip the switch on the south wall to open a set of bars behind you that lead to another teleporter, which goes back to the previous area. Kill the approaching demons and knights (plus revenants on UV and NM) then go back to where you found the BFG and climb up to the north wall to find the exit door. Open all three doors using the keys you obtained and enter the black teleporter in the next room to go to MAP16: Wrecking Base.
Secret exit[edit]
There are three barriers in the room with the exit teleporter, which can be opened using the switches in secrets #3, #4 and #5. After lowering all three barriers, you can open the door behind them to find the exit switch for MAP32: When In Romero.
