MAP31: Wolfenstein is the first secret map of Doom 2 In Name Only. It was designed by Xaser and uses the music track "Evil Incarcerated" by James Paddock (Jimmy). The par time defined in MAPINFO is 4:00.

Essentials[edit]

Yellow key[edit]

Step out of the prison cell then head west to an octagonal staircase and climb it to the top. Kill an imp on the battlement ahead and take the shotgun here if you need it, then drop to the ground below and head west to a tower containing a megaarmor. Behind this tower is a dark tunnel that leads outside - go through it and kill some waiting zombiemen, then head north towards a large castle gate that will open to reveal a cyberdemon and some demons, as well as arachnotrons on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher; the cyberdemon will teleport away as it approaches you. Collect the super shotgun at the end of the hall, which is guarded by imps and Hell knights, then ascend a curved staircase to reach a courtyard with a rocket launcher.

As you approach the rocket launcher, you will be teleported to the north side of the courtyard and will face revenants along with imps, shotgun guys and more knights. Go through the doorway in the south-east corner to reach an area with a pair of wooden structures, then run north until you drop down to a lower area with a tower. Kill a knight waiting inside the tower then activate the lift it was guarding, dispose of a waiting revenant then ride the lift up and head east through a door to reach a Y-shaped bridge. Take the right-hand path to reach another door, noting the revenants in the tower to your left, then open the door to enter a room with a large circular staircase guarded by lost souls.

Go down the steps to a doorway on the west side it and pass through it to enter a small storage room, then walk south until you drop into a damaging sludge pool with a dock. Climb on to the dock and kill a mancubus, then flip the switch it was guarding to lower the wall and reveal a second switch ahead; after disposing of another mancubus and three lost souls that teleport in behind you, flip the second switch to lower a waterfall on your left holding the yellow skull key. Now return to the sludge pool and flip the switch on the north wall to lower a lift, ride it up to the circular staircase then drop to the very bottom of the stairs to see another doorway. Go through the doorway to see a wooden bridge with revenants on it, then pass through a second doorway to the east before turning right to get on to the bridge. Flip a switch on the opposite side to get back to the yellow key room, kill two more revenants that appear behind you then flip another switch ahead to lower the yellow key to the ground so you can collect it.

Exit[edit]

With the yellow key, head west into the sludge room and climb the steps ahead to a yellow key door, then go through this door to find a swastika teleporter. Use the teleporter to go to a tower on the west side of the map, then open the door ahead to get outside and confront some mancubi. Climb up the rocks in the south-west corner to reach the upper level, then east to return to the courtyard you were teleported to earlier; you can now open the door at the north end to enter the throne room. Climb up either of the curved staircases then head north towards the throne, collecting a megasphere on the way.

As you reach the throne, Hitler will rise from it and teleport behind you; he has 6,000 hit points and attacks by firing a spread of mancubus fireballs that continues until his target is dead or out of sight, but because he has zero pain chance and stands still while attacking, you can easily hit him with your own weapons by staying on the move. Kill Hitler along with the imps (plus mancubi and arch-viles on HMP or higher) that enter the throne room, which will open two doors behind the throne, then go down the steps to reach a red path that leads to the exit switch. As you advance, watch out for the cyberdemon from earlier teleporting behind you; there is a BFG9000 hidden behind the exit switch that will help you kill it, if you choose.
