MAP31: You have to buy pevko in Winnkar City is the first secret map of Blitz: Race Against Time. It was designed by Winnkar, who also composed the music track "drummaaa machinus". The par time defined in ZMAPINFO is 30 seconds.
The level takes place in what appears to be a regular supermarket, centered around the simple act of purchasing beer. However, if the player begins to explore beyond this, suspicions about the store's legitimacy begin to surface.

Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
The level begins just outside a grocery store. The player's objective is to collect beer cans from the shelves. Each beer can is represented by a cylindrical, black-and-yellow object. They act as key items required to unlock the exit. There are a total of 20 cans, distributed across six rows of shelves. All must be collected to progress. Once all the beer cans are picked up, go to the cashier located on the western side of the store. Press the button behind the counter to open the exit door. All cans must be collected within 30 seconds, otherwise, the door will remain locked.
After exiting the store, cross the street to the western building. Inside, you will encounter an arachnotron. Eliminate it, then open the regular door to the south to proceed.
- Alternative way:
Proceed to the northeast part of the level, where you will find the entrance to a freight area. Look for a door marked EXIT, going through it will take you outside, to a street area with a 30-second timed door. Once you have passed through the gate, head to the western part of the city, circling around the grocery store to reach the level exit.
- Secret ending:
By following secret #1, the player gains access to an underground meat processing facility. Exit into the corridor where a ventilation shaft can be seen, be cautious, as touching it results in instant death. Head right into the southern section of the level to find the butcher’s room. At the far end of this room, a note is pinned to the wall. Pick it up, then return to the room containing a television and telephone. Interact with the telephone, and head all the way back to the starting area of the level. The 30-second door will not close after the timer expires when triggering this ending.
After returning to the front of the store, the police have arrived. Run toward the western part of the city. Once you kill the arachnotron and open the door, a group of officers confronts the player, suspecting them of wrongdoing. Walk forward, this action triggers the end of the level.
Other points of interest[edit]
In the beer room, head to the eastern side, where you will encounter three zombieman and several wall-mounted fans. On the left side of the fan array, there is a blinking switch. Activating this switch causes interactive beer cans to be highlighted, and reveals several visual markers that guide the player toward triggering the secret ending.
In the warehouse, on the third cargo shelf (or loading bay) used for storing items, there are several electrical devices. Among them are two pillar-like objects connected by a wire. The player cannot pass between them, but if a monster walks through, it will instantly die.
In the freight area, the super shotgun is located on top of a large crate situated on the central platform.
In the butcher's room (see secret ending), there is a hidden door on the left wall that leads to a secret room containing the red keycard. Take the key and head to the building in the western part of the level. To the left of the exit, there is a red key-locked door. Open it to reveal Romero's head. Killing it will instantly end the level, but will also result in the player's own death, creating a parallel or self-sacrificial conclusion.
Using the idclip cheat code, proceed to the southwestern part of the level. There, you will find a large number of voodoo dolls. Pressing a nearby switch lowers them.
Secrets[edit]
- Enter the freight area at the northeast end, then open the southwest door. Open the southeast wall in this room and press the button here to access another hall. (sector 118)
- After Secret #1, open the door to the east and use the switch to open the large vent which has a megasphere. (sector 146)

Technical information[edit]
Inspiration and development[edit]
Throughout the development of the megawad, this level was considered the most confusing among the others due to its non-intuitive gameplay. To address this issue, DRON12261 and Ear1h added a switch shortly before release that highlights the correct path regardless of difficulty setting. They also introduced an alternative exit through the freight area to improve flow and player accessibility.
Trivia[edit]
- The store is also named 'Beer and Fish Shop', as indicated by the hanging legs found in several parts of the main area, symbolizing hanging fish.
