Secrets[edit]
Official[edit]
- Head south from the start until you see two metal supports with a fence between them. Continue south until you can get on the rock wall to the west, then follow it north and press the switch. This raises a pole to the other side, where you can get the berserk pack. (sector 898)
- In the southeast caves, head to a ledge at the south end and run and jump north to a long crate that has a megaarmor. (sector 1336)
- After taking the large lift up, head to the large crate to the northwest. Use the crate where the box of rockets is which has an emblem to lower the larger crate, which has a blur artifact inside. (sector 2390)
- Head to the area north of the crates mentioned above, then head south to the crate stack near the larger crate. Use the one with the emblem again, run back north, then east through an open door before it rises. To the south is a soul sphere. (sector 6442)
- Inside the smaller building at the west side, head south and near the east fence. Go along the outside of the fence, then climb the large rock to the top and jump east. Flip the switch there and head back to the smaller building. Go all the way to the east to pick up a megaarmor. (sector 3423)
- South of the platform with the red key card on it is a small bridge with a water pool next to it below a waterfall. Step into the pool to find a soul sphere hidden deep in the water. Alternatively, you can also jump down the waterfall from the trail above on your way to the small arena with the electrified water where you pick up the blue key card. (sector 793)
- To reach the platform with the red key card, press a small switch hidden in the northeastern pillar of the small bridge directly south from it. This will raise a rock in front of the platform with the red key card. Backtrack to the trail above, near the top of the waterfall. You will find a small opening in the fence from where you can jump to the newly raised rock; from there hop over to the platform and press the switch. The switch will summon the golden astral cacodemon, which in turn will eliminate the cyberdemon on the tower to the east by flying past it, dragging explosions behind it that will blow up the tower. Afterwards the red key card will lower. (sector 5188)
- Once you acquired the red key card, step through one of the red doors in the level and flip the switch in Control Room 02; then leave through the red door in Control Room 01 to arrive just outside the broad path leading east over the dam and toward the level exit. Instead of heading east though, turn around and follow the path down to its western end where the door leading to the shafts has opened. Stepping inside will trigger the secret. (Afterwards, a crossing gate will block the path forward momentarily, followed by another appearance of the golden astral cacodemon racing by, dragging explosions behind it, before the path is opened up again.) (sector 8811)
- Get the yellow skull key from the golden astral cacodemon and backtrack until you reach the small yellow door. Open it and fall down the large pit. At the bottom, head to the north wall and lower it to find a portal leading to another portal across the gap to the southwest. Follow the path down from there to the entrance of a large dark cave. (sector 652)
- At the entrance to the large cave you reached on your way to secret #9, press the switch in front of you to reveal an giant steel gate at the other end of the cave with a small control room on either side. Quickly flip the switch in each room by making use of the portals to reach the other switch in time. This in turn will slowly lower the enormous gate until it finally reveals a much smaller door behind it. Go through the door to reach Control Room 04, which contains six boxes of ammo and the perforator. (sector 608)
Non-official[edit]
- Once you reached Control Room 04 (secret #10), if you enter Control Room 02 again for the first time afterwards, an apparition of a nightmare cacodemon (NAC dummy) can be seen in the middle of the room for a split second before disappearing again. (When teleporting into the room, the green teleporter fog will partly obscure the view, making it difficult to see the apparition clearly, so it is better to enter the room through the red door that leads to it instead.)

Trivia[edit]
- Inside the shafts at the western edge of the map, on the way to the fight with the golden astral cacodemon, the player has to cross a gap by making use of two portals on either side. This mirrors a very similar gameplay puzzle found early on in the 2007 video game Portal.
- The scene of the giant steel gate getting dramatically lit and lowered on the way to secret #10 only to reveal a much smaller door behind it, is a homage to a very similar scene and reveal in the video game Portal 2.
- The apparition of a nightmare cacodemon that can be briefly seen in Control Room 02 after returning from Control Room 04 (see non-official secret for details), is encountered again at the beginning of MAP26: Myriad where it teases the first proper encounter with the nightmare cacodemon later in the map. Furthermore, MAP26 uses the same MIDI ("Otherworld") that plays inside Control Room 01–03.
