Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Kill the chaingunners on the staircases to your left and right, then go up the western staircase to find a radiation shielding suit and a plasma gun along with a blue door. Take the suit then drop into the lava below and go east to a wooden door, then pass through it to find a skull switch next to a lift. Press the switch to activate the lift and kill any zombies waiting at the top, then go south and west to a staircase that leads down to a ledge with revenants. Run west off this ledge to land on the block below with the blue skull key; if you miss the block and land in the lava below, a teleporter will lower which will return you to the lift room.
Go back up to the blue door and pass through it, then turn right to drop down to a platform with a megasphere, which will help you survive the monsters that teleport in including a cyberdemon and two arch-viles. Open the exit door at the west end to face three more arch-viles, then go through the door and head south and east to an eye switch that will raise the block which held the blue key. You can now make a running jump down to the block, then run south to land in the alcove with the exit switch.
Other points of interest[edit]
The lava pit in front of you at the start contains a megasphere.
After riding the lift up, turn left and left again to find a BFG9000. Approaching the weapon opens a closet behind you with chaingunners.
Secrets[edit]
- At the top of the lift, press the eye switch to find an arch-vile and a supercharge. (sector 113)
Bugs[edit]
An ambush consisting of four chaingunners descending on a floor is meant to trigger when the BFG9000 is picked up, but it fails on complevel 2 because the chaingunners in the trap are stuck in the ceiling, preventing the floor from moving, which makes 100% kills impossible to attain. It works in complevel 9, in effect making the map for Boom-compatible ports rather than limit-removing ports. This has been fixed for the Doom Classic Unity port.
