Overview[edit]
In a concept similar to Ultimate Doom's E3M9, the first half of MAP32 achieves complete similarity to the first map of the original Scythe, with the one difference being the sky.
The level keeps this going until player reaches the would-be exit of Scythe's MAP01, at which the player notices a wall lowering to reveal a BFG9000 and cells. From here, the difficulty raises as the formerly trooper- and imp-occupied map is filled with much more powerful enemies. New paths that branch off the original layout open, which the player must make his way through to complete the level.
Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Head north from the start and enter the building. Go down the stairs in the north-west corner of this room and hit the switch on the northern wall. This lowers the red key. Backtrack and grab the now-lowered red key. Enter the south-eastern building and head up the stairs. Hit the switch on the eastern most wall. Enter the southernmost area and head east to find a switch. Flip it and retrace your steps to the outside of this building. Go to the right and follow the path until you reach a door.
Open it, press the switch inside and turn around to see a wall to your left lower. Go through that passage, collect the yellow key and use the lift. Go straight ahead and drop down into the water to your left. Grab the blue key then move to the northeast of this area and use the blue switch twice to lower the wall next to it. Enter the opening and you will fall in the area with the switch that lowered the red key. A yellow switch is now accessible, so flip it to reveal an alcove to the left containing another switch that you have to press. Get out of this building and make a hairpin to the left to find the exit teleporter.
Secrets[edit]
Official[edit]
- The chainsaw is directly northeast of your starting point. (sector 13)
- On the ledges overlooking the watery area on the west side of the map, you can spot a megasphere on the opposite end. Run across the ledge to reach it. If you press the switch nearby to lower part of the ledge, you can still jump across to reach the megasphere. (sector 137)
Non-official[edit]
It is possible (via arch-vile jump) to reach the southeastern water area of the map. You will find a berserk pack out here.
