MAP35: Inferno City is the third map of After Doom. It was designed by 00_Zombie_00 and uses the music track "". The par time defined in MAPINFO is 36:40.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

You start in Dis, facing the spiderdemon’s corpse. Enter the red portal at the north end of the arena to teleport to the east side of the ruined city, but start moving immediately as there is an apocalipsis inside the maw at the west end of the road which will fire exploding projectiles at you relentlessly. Monsters will continuously spawn from the blood pool under the apocalipsis so do not bother engaging them; instead, leave them to the allied marines that spawn from the wreckage behind you.

Head west along the road until you reach a police car, then enter the building south of it to get the yellow keycard. Go back outside and follow the road east and south to a butcher’s shop, kill the butcher inside it then open the yellow door to confront three cryocubi who are guarding the red keycard. Go back to the central road and look north to see a red barrier inside some hellgrowth, open the barrier to find shotgun guys and demons guarding a plasma gun, then go straight forward into a flesh-covered building. Follow the blood pools west and south to find a BFG9000 and the red skull key, then go back outside where some revenants and pain elementals have teleported to the maw.

If you have not done so already, shoot at the apocalipsis until it disappears to lower the ledge it is standing on, then open the large pentagram wall behind it to see a green portal guarded by arch-viles and cacodemons, as well three cyberdemons that are carrying different weapons—a rocket launcher, twin chainguns and twin flamethrowers. Additionally, there are four monster spawners behind the portal that will continually generate more enemies—each time you kill a cyberdemon, another spawner will open which will increase the amount of resistance you face. Once all the cyberdemons are killed, the apocalipsis will return and will now fire missile barrages in addition to its exploding projectiles; the monster has a lot of health, but the marines can distract it from attacking you for a short time. Kill the apocalipsis to open the green portal then enter it to teleport to the start of MAP01: Entryway, where the level will end.

Secrets[edit]

  1. When you enter the city, climb on the hellgrowth to the north end as much as you can, following health bonuses. You will find a column of hellgrowth with boxes of rockets, a backpack, an armor, a medikit, and a chaingun. (sector 95)
  2. Head to the west end of the city, then south, climbing on hellgrowth and going south-west at the split to find energy cell packs and a megaarmor. (sector 377)
  3. Open the wall south of where secret #2 is. Head west and up onto another section of hellgrowth and rubble, going to the clips and energy cell. Jump to the enclave to the west to find a plasma gun among other supplies. (sector 2831)
  4. Get on the ledge above the red skull key and head north to get energy cells and a megasphere. (sector 1896)
  5. When you enter the city, go to the rubble to the south-west and climb up to the west and around a wall. At the top, collect the megasphere to get this secret. (thing 90)
