MAP37: Credits is the thirty-seventh and credits map of Eviternity II. It was designed by Joshua O'Sullivan (Dragonfly), who also composed the level's default music track, "The Innkeeper". The map also contains music changers for replay of all preceding tracks in the WAD, as well as a hidden song titled "Eviternal", written and recorded by James Paddock (Jimmy) in collaboration with Kevin Martins (Velvetic), Brayden Hart (AD_79), Tristan Clark, The Final Event, and Dee Leggett.

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

In order to beat the map and reveal the final ending screen of Eviternity II, all hidden enemies in the level must be killed. To reveal them, the date 8.4.2021 must be input (provided inside the CHANGELOG.txt), using the switches in the window frames inside the different shrines that the portals from the starting area lead to. To enter the date, press the window frames for maps 08, 04, 20, & 21 – in that order.

First, go through the northeastern portal to reach the shrine for the second episode. Inside each shrine, the window that the player faces when they teleport in represents the first map of the episode; from there, maps are counted clockwise, with the last window showing the secret map. Press on the window frame for the third map of the episode, "Oblation". You should hear a switch sound. Return to the main area and step through the northern portal to reach the shrine for the first episode. Press on the window frame for the fourth map of episode, "Engulfed". Next, head to the shrine for the fourth episode (southern portal), and press on the window for the fifth map of the episode, "Dominion". Finally, inside the shrine for the fifth episode (southwestern portal), press on the window for the first map in the episode, "Numb". The pillars around the shrine will lower and reveal a megasphere, a super shotgun, a chaingun, a plasma gun, a perforator, a rocket launcher, a shotgun, and a stash of ammo (two backpacks, 18 boxes of rockets, four boxes of shotgun shells, six boxes of bullets, and six energy cell packs). At the same time, 144 baby astral cacodemons will start to teleport into the main area of the map. They do not count toward the kill percentage but killing them all will end the map. Note that they cannot make use of the teleporters, so you are safe from them inside the shrines.

Secrets[edit]

There are no official secrets on this map.

Non-official[edit]

  • Once the baby astral cacodemons have been revealed, input the date 8.4.2022, using the same method as described above, to reveal a friendly baby nightmare cacodemon that will teleport into the main area and start following you. It can use the teleporters in the level and will fight the baby astral cacodemons, either after having been attacked first (DeHackEd behavior) or immediately upon seeing them (DECORATE behavior), using a quick burst of two perforator shots as its attack (giving it a DPS that would be sufficient to kill each phase of the final boss of Eviternity II in under 10 seconds). While it technically has 9999 HP, it cannot actually be killed, as it spawns an identical copy of itself upon death that seamlessly takes its place – the only indication of this happening to the player is the wake-up sound that the newly spawned version plays. It cannot be stunlocked, as it has a zero percent pain chance, and will never attack the player.
  • Input the date 24.9.92, using the method described above, either before or after inputting the other two dates, to lower the pillars inside the shrine for the first episode, revealing teleporters that lead to a secret credits room which will trigger the recording of the song "Eviternal" to start playing.
