MAP41: Descent into Madness is the forty-first map of Doomworld Maximum Project 2023. It was designed by smeghammer and uses the music track "The Demon's Dead" by Robert Prince.

Secrets[edit]

  1. At the area with crates, climb up at the middle and maneuver to the northeast to get a chaingun. (sector 304)
  2. In the same area, head to the middle to get a soul sphere. (sector 364)
  3. In the same area, maneuver to the northeast of that to get a box of rockets. (sector 372)
  4. At the west side of the area with crates, head behind the crates at the northwest and open a door to get a rocket launcher. (sector 458)
  5. At the west side of the area with crates, climb up to the computer area map at the west side. (sector 473)
  6. In the block maze past the red door, approaching the west side will block the way west. Head all the way north, then east, then south, opening the door there, but afterwards, backtrack to the previously blocked-off path which is now open. You can now get the megaarmor. (sector 722)
  7. Make it to the east switch in the block maze area and backtrack to the maze itself, getting the megasphere there. Afterwards, go back to the door that led to the switch and head east and south, then west to get health bonuses, ammo, and a computer area map. (sector 692)
  8. Go through the south bloodfall in Secret #7 to find armor bonuses, a plasma gun, and a box of ammo. (sector 739)
  9. At the blue keycard, jump southeast, then to the plasma gun to the west. (sector 928)
  10. In the blue key area, go through the fence at the northeast end and enter three alcoves to the north to get an energy cell pack, a backpack, and a megasphere. (sector 970)

  13. Keep going east from the previous three secrets, then south, taking a lift to a BFG9000. (sector 956)
  14. In the red hall, go through the south bloodfalls to find a rocket launcher. (sector 813)
  15. Head east from Secret #14 and drop down the hole at the end to get a green armor and a medikit. You can access this from the bottom of the blood here as well. (sector 814)
  16. On the high beams of the red hall northeast of the hub, go through the northeast bloodfall to find energy cell packs. (sector 1612)
  17. In the red hall, go through the north bloodfalls for an alternate passage. This has five secret sectors, but two are not accessible. (sector 1685)

  22. In the path past the blue door, head west of the steps to get a chaingun. (sector 1191)

Bugs[edit]

The player 1-4 starts (Things 0-3) have no flags set for any of the three difficulty classes, but because of special handling in the engine, they function normally in the level.
