Marisa Lago

Marisa Lago, known online as Marisa the Magician, is a Spanish Doom level designer and gameplay modder, known for the Soundless Mound map which won the Doom Mapping Contest II: Hellectric Boogaloo. She contributed occasionally to the development of GZDoom with a focus on extensions to its scripting features. In 2019, Marisa joined the team which compiled that year's Cacowards, covering the gameplay mod section in TerminusEst13's stead. She was mostly absent the next year, having Kinsie cover up for her, and stepped down shortly after following backlash on social media over her inflammatory comments regarding the award given to Abandon.

Marisa was part of the Doom community from 2008 to 2023, initially under the name of UBX Master. Over time, she employed many names in her work before eventually settling on her current one. Other known handles include Zanaveth the Corruptor, Saya-chan and Marisa Kirisame. She has also created mods for the original Unreal Tournament up until 2014, before focusing solely on Doom projects.
