The front cover of Maximum Death for Heretic

Maximum Death for Heretic is a commercial compilation for Heretic, created by Quality Multimedia and published in 1996. It contains over 1600 levels, according to the front cover. The compilation is divided into different folders in the ISO file, such as a TOPRATED folder, where the considered best WAD files can be found. It utilizes its own frontend launcher, which allows for easy selection of levels and other configurations. Included is also its own version of a multiplayer software, which allows for up to four players to connect via a DWANGO server, either to play Doom or Heretic.

In breakthrough of standard shovelware practices, this compilation also includes a text file with reviews and ratings for all the levels. The rating system is from 1 to 10, and makes use of little notes to be used as a reference guide for the players.

While the marketing is targeted towards Heretic, it also includes a large number of Doom WADs.

The frontend launcher includes various utilities for both games. Such as DeHackEd files that change the behavior of the game, and level editors.
