POOGERS is a megawad created by the POOGERS team, a group of creators from various corners of the Doom community. It was initially released in February 2022, with a final release in June 2022. Although Boom-compatible, the authors of the WAD recommend DSDA-Doom or PrBoom+ for optimal play.
It is a joke WAD incorporating various memes and jokes, with its title being taken from and the player character being POOGERS, a modified version of POGGERS, a Twitch emote of Pepe the Frog with a dumbfounded expression resembling the famous PogChamp emote. The map designs reflect this, with bizarre and often comedic designs, and unorthodox gameplay, in some cases requiring advanced movement techniques.
Due to its overall oddity, the WAD received a fair amount of attention from the Doom community, and it was given an honorable mention at the 2022 Cacowards.
