Paranoid is a total conversion for Doom II, based off the video game Half-Life and released on March 31, 2010. It was developed by The Persecution Complex team, led by Rex Claussen, who had previously developed another Half-Life themed total conversion, Paranoia, at the turn of the century. Paranoid features eight levels built around a hub, all themed around levels from the original game and featuring a completely new set of weapons and enemies from Half-Life. While some decorations and NPCs utilize 3D models, the majority of the actors utilize 2D sprite renditions of the Half-Life bestiary and weaponry. A sequel, Paranoiac, was released in 2017.
Paranoid received a honorable mention in the 2010 Cacowards.
