Puzzles and Pieces is an episode replacement for Doom II, consisting of eight levels and an outro map, created by Christophine Place and first released on the Doomworld forums on May 29, 2024.

Levels are small in size and feature no combat, with gameplay instead centered on solving puzzles, many of which require the player to spot subtle clues hidden in the environment.

Puzzles and Pieces received an honorable mention at the 2024 Cacowards.

Content

Custom content

The WAD file contains a DeHackEd patch and MAPINFO lump for changing map names and text strings. A COMPLVL lump is also included to force vanilla compatibility. The TITLEPIC lump is made out of one of the skies from Hexen, and custom textures are sourced from the PatchTex texture pack by Roberto Lopez (Gothic).
