Rand Phares (alias grayman) was a Doom level designer and programmer who contributed to a number of projects. He also worked on the Boom source port. He was also the lead developer for the Thief community's The Dark Mod engine. Rand passed away on May 22, 2021, after a battle with cancer. He was honored with a memorial sidebar in the 2021 Cacowards.
