From DoomWiki.org

Roger Ritenour is a Doom level designer, most notable for being the author of Phobos and Earth, both of which were featured in Top 100 WADs of All Time article. His levels were notable at the time for their quality of visuals, texture work and special effects[1], especially apparent in the aforementioned works. However, his levels have been criticized for being "somewhat lacking in gameplay."[2]
