STR11: Tunnel is the eleventh map of Stronghold: On the Edge of Chaos. It was designed by Daniel Gimmer (Tormentor667) and uses a custom music track.

This level introduces the "Milestone" mode, where the objective is to stop monsters passing through a series of milestones on their way to the deadline.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Before the level starts, Lt. Carmack will brief you on the essentials of the Milestone mode. The level itself is one long passage - monsters will spawn at the north-east end of the passage and follow it until they reach the deadline which is behind your starting point. Along the way the monsters will pass through three numbered zones - these contain the milestones that you need to protect. Each time the enemies breach a milestone, they will start spawning in that zone instead.

The starting room contains weapon, ammo and health pads; a powerup pad can be found in zone three. There are numbered teleporters in the starting room that will allow players to quickly travel to and from the zones - use teleporter one to reach the demons' starting point. Each time a milestone is breached its teleporter will be sealed.

As with Deadline levels, focus on the fastest enemies first before they get too close to the milestones; powerups may be required to hold back the cyberdemons that appear on the final wave. Watch out for the pain elementals on wave seven; if they fire a lost soul at you then it could go through a milestone by accident.

There is a shotgun and shotgun shells on your left as the level starts.

A marine reinforcement powerup can be found above the deadline - use the lifts either side of it to reach the powerup.
