Simon Garlick is a background character in Doom 3. He was a UAC research specialist who worked at Delta Labs, and later participated in the Delta Lab's secret expeditions into Hell. During Expedition 14A-2, he became separated from his team who apparently vanished. He later discovered that they'd been massacred by the demons of Hell. He was then hunted for days by the demons, who toyed with him, deliberately allowing him to stay ahead of them. It is unknown exactly what happened to him, but presumably the demons found him and killed him.

Garlick's PDA can be found next to a large cache of weapons in Hell. It contains two audio logs which detail the disappearance of his team, and him being hunted by the demons. It also contains two emails which reveals that the UAC on Mars has been sending expeditions into Hell for some time now, and have been capturing Imps for study. Garlick's mission was to capture a Hell Knight and bring it back alive.
