Simply Phobos (pe1_phob.wad) is an episode 1 replacement for The Ultimate Doom by Paul Corfiatis (pcorf) in the style of Knee-Deep in the Dead, with a bonus secret level in the style of Inferno by Kristian Aro (Nebula). It also includes a custom soundtrack by Paul Corfiatis in a separate file, pe1_pmus.wad. All levels of episode 1 are vanilla compatible, although the use of a limit-removing source port is recommended, as certain areas in its levels may suffer from visplane overflows. The bonus level requires a Boom-compatible source port, despite being advertised as a limit-removing level.

It was originally released in 2004 and was updated in 2010 to fix certain bugs in the maps, perform certain cosmetic changes, and remove the secret releasable cyberdemon meant to infight with the barons of Hell (named baron swatter cyberdemon by Paul) of the last map, as it was useless, according to Paul. It also gives the choice of either listening to a selection of original Doom music or the new enhanced custom music. In 2019 it was included as the first episode of Death Tormention: The Complete Trilogy.
