Skulltiverse is a 32-map megawad for Doom II and Boom-compatible source ports created as a community project led by ViolentBeetle. The plot involves traveling to different dimensions via a magic blue skull and all maps (barring the two secret maps) require the player to grab the blue skull key to activate the exit teleporter. Mappers were given seven days from the date they signed up to complete their maps. The mapset is split into six themes: techbase, corrupted techbase, ruins, marble hell, fleshy hell, and void, with the two secret levels being Hellevator themed.
Skulltiverse is a spiritual successor of the 2020 Hellevator community project, also led by ViolentBeetle. This project was announced on the Doomworld forums in March 2021 and the idgames archive release followed on August 8. It received an honorable mention at the Cacowards that year.
Plot[edit]
The UAC has discovered Skullgate - inter-dimensional portals activated by a magic blue skull and used them to travel between worlds. Unfortunately they ran into some demonic problems again.
